A woman charged with harassing Kate McCann reportedly left her a voicemail message which questioned: "imagine I am Madeleine?"

The defendant, twenty-four, who witnesses stated has repeatedly declared she was the disappeared Madeleine McCann, and Karen Spragg are facing charges indicted with pursuing Kate and Gerry McCann between June 2022 and February this year.

On Monday, Leicester Crown Court was told call records and evidence obtained from phones logged Ms Wandelt repeatedly asking Madeleine's mother for a DNA test during the past two years.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - at the age of three during a family holiday in Portugal - is among the most covered investigations and remains open.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

One voicemail, presented in court, documented Ms Wandelt stating: "I understand I'm overweight and not pretty like Madeleine used to be, but I feel what I know."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's recording stated: "Imagine there is a slight possibility that I'm her? Then what? Wouldn't that be crucial for you?"

"I don't want money, I possess a existence here in Poland, I simply desire to discover," she added.

The tribunal was informed that via emails, text messages and calls, Ms Wandelt requested a DNA test, forwarded early photographs to her phone in a effort to demonstrate a likeness to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and asserted to have "flashbacks" from a youth with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an intelligence analyst with law enforcement who gathered the data, informed the court there "seemed to lack any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also communicated with family friends of the McCanns, as per the call data.

On October 9th, 2024, Gerry McCann responded to a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "a wrong number."

That day Ms Wandelt recorded a recording on Mrs McCann's voicemail stating "I won't give up and I plan to establish my point."

The court learned the co-defendant developed a association through digital means with Ms Wandelt before joining her on a trip to the McCanns' property in that area in December 2024.

Call logs demonstrated Mrs Spragg had communicated using communication app to Mrs McCann to express the media had depicted Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she deserved to be considered genuine in the months before the trip to that location, the county, in December 2024.
