Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Due to Fracture in Cockpit Window
A plane ferrying Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was discovered in the plane's windshield, per an official announcement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft landed following established safety measures and everyone onboard, among them Pete Hegseth, is unharmed," a press officer said in a social media post.
The secretary was coming back from a short visit to the city of Brussels during the flight.
This occurrence isn't the first time that a US military aircraft transporting a high-ranking official has suffered equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane carrying Marco Rubio to Munich was forced to head back to the US capital after experiencing a mechanical fault.
