Britain's Emma Raducanu has pulled out of her final two events this season as a result of the illness she has been fighting in recent days.

Raducanu, aged 22 had planned to participate in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to rest and recuperate prior to beginning next year's training.

Her upcoming training are set to feature trainer Francisco Roig, as they have decided to continue collaborating in 2026.

The tennis professional underwent blood pressure monitoring during her first-round match with Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and withdrew when losing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

Another medical visit was necessary a visit from the doctor at the recent Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

Her movement was noticeably restricted in the third set against Zhu because of back discomfort that has been a concern at times this year.

Those results signaled a promising season, in which Raducanu rose into the world's top 30 after a long gap for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses.

She held three match points then was defeated by American player Jessica Pegula in the third stage in the Beijing tournament last month.

The player achieved twenty-eight matches in the current season and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her most impressive week was at March's Miami Open.

As Britain's top player made the last eight of this WTA 1000 tournament, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed on the way before losing in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

Her coach was trainer Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role in time for the US Open.

The first plan with Rafael Nadal's former coach was for the remainder of the year but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in late this year.

She mentioned that her three-day trial with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She nearly succeeded to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their first tournament together in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
