Week 10 once more provided excitement, with a major surprise for the Buffalo Bills proving the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' saying that attracts so many people into the NFL
That result could have created opportunities for the New England Patriots to creep back into a leading position they used to occupy, with a schedule that provides them an advantage over their eight and two competitors
Meanwhile in the NFC the Seattle Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to arrange a major confrontation in week 11, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the MVP award
The Breakdown - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?
Was it just an emotional letdown from defeating Kansas City last week or a deeper issue? That's the question for the Bills to address
The Bills had won seven in a row against the Dolphins but were outperformed from the beginning as the Miami team emerged as 30-13 victors in an eye-opening result - and performance
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the squad's opening first down in the third quarter and initial scoring in the final quarter - yes Miami had ten days to get ready but it was nonetheless a massive egg produced by one of the league's best offenses
Dolphins quarterback Tua passed for two scores but running back Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 combined yards and two scores
Bottling up the league's best running game was also key, with Cook and teammates recording just eighty-six yards, their lowest of the year and just over fifty percent their 161.5 yard season average
Then there were the three critical turnovers, and the pair from Josh Allen in particular. An interception in the scoring area resulting in a nine minute possession produced nothing, and his fourth-quarter fumble that the Dolphins converted to seven points just two plays
It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defensive side and Josh Allen trying to overcompensate to rescue his squad from the situation - not the calm, disciplined, balanced Bills we've seen this season
Miami have served up a varied performances this year so the jury's out on if this is the start of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an instant response in a difficult matchup against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the New England are quietly moving into a comfortable advantage at the top of the AFC East
Spotlight - New England Identify Route to Surprise Top Seed
Speaking of the Patriots, they're among three eight and two teams in the league, all American Football Conference teams, but could they be the top team?
One could find flaws in New England, Denver and the Colts really for dominating the lesser sides, with just five of their total 24 wins achieved against opponents with a winning record - and one example was the Indianapolis defeating the Denver
The Broncos beat the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are masters of the fourth-quarter while Indy can ride Jonathan Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's victory in Tampa to their prime time win in Buffalo appears to be a statement
Their pair of losses came in new head coach Mike Vrabel's initial three contests, with seven consecutive victories, similar to the Broncos, since then - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a week off to get ready was significant
Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials continue to be discussed, and he definitely deserves point for bravery after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa but persevering to guide his side to success
The defensive unit is solid and rookie running back Henderson burst onto the scene on game day with 147 yards and two exciting scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth runner to exceed 22 miles per hour this year on his initial touchdown
Although you can argue who 'the top team' is technically, the Pats should be favourites to end with the top record thanks to their remaining opponents - which includes just a single matchup against a winning team, although a huge one against Buffalo
Traveling to the Ravens is also tough, but Denver have it even tougher in the AFC West with the Kansas City to play twice, the Los Angeles Chargers (who might also challenge for top seed but face the identical challenge) and additionally the Green Bay on the schedule
The Indianapolis also play the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two games with the 5-4 Jaguars to face. There's a long way to travel but the opportunity is open for a surprise number one position in the AFC
Next Week - Los Angeles and Seattle Set for Week 11 Clash
Two teams with solid claims to be superior to all of the three 8-2 sides are National Football Conference West rivals the Seahawks and Los Angeles, who each put up 40 burgers to reach 7-2 before next week's Hollywood blockbuster meeting between the two in Los Angeles
They've both secured four victories in a row, have signal callers in Matthew Stafford and Darnold playing at an high standard (although Darnold had ball security problems on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units allowing under 20 points a game
Both could easily be undefeated as well - especially the Rams as their pair of losses came in overtime against the 49ers and then that painful defeat in Philly when they had a game-winning field goal with the final play blocked and run back by the Eagles for a touchdown
Seattle were also defeated to San Francisco, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before losing to the final play of the game against the Buccaneers - so they're genuinely among the best sides in the NFL
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year to date
Player of the Week - Jonathan Taylor
Taylor might be on for a record season after his incredible display in Germany - running for 244 rushing yards, registering three touchdowns and contributing an additional forty-two {receiving yards
