Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Claims Involving Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment Wednesday night confirming they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in online accounts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the NFL.
The team omitted the name of Rice by name in their announcement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete by name, shared a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs selected in the second round.
Police Reports Currently Not on File
No official complaints were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have occurred.
Rice's Recent Legal Issues
Rice missed the initial part of this season due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that left multiple people hurt. He was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
On the field, he concluded the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs went 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time in a ten-year span.
