Canada's skeleton athletes were cleared of charges that they rigged a qualifying event for the Winter Olympics, which allegedly denied competitors from other nations a spot to secure their place.

US skeleton veteran Katie Uhlaender accused the Canadian squad of withdrawing four of its six competitors from a race in Lake Placid. She claimed this shrunk the competition, making a lower points pool available. Despite winning the event, Uhlaender failed to earn her berth for the Milan-Cortina Games.
“Existing federation regulations permit member nations to pull competitors from an event at any time,” stated the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation (IBSF).
After reviewing the matter, the federation stated it would take no action, dismissing the complaints as no rules were broken of its regulations.
